Acorns is a pretty straightforward way to start investing small amounts. For Australian users, the former Acorns Australia is now Raiz, which is what I've used. My overall score is 7.5/10. The round-ups are probably the biggest selling point. Rounding up purchases and investing the difference makes sense if you struggle to get around to putting money aside. You can also set recurring deposits, and the ready-made portfolios take some of the work out of choosing investments. The fees are where the appeal drops a bit. A monthly charge might sound small, but if you're only investing spare change and your balance is low, it takes a proportionally bigger bite. The automation is useful, but you do have to consider what you're paying for that convenience. Overall, a decent starting point for building an investing habit. Just worth checking the fees against how much you actually intend to invest. Not sure it is so good for kids in that way...

Acorns stands out by making investing unusually approachable, particularly for people who want to build a long-term investing habit without managing a complex portfolio themselves. Its best-known feature is Round-Ups, which can automatically invest spare change from everyday purchases. Acorns also combines automated investing with recurring contributions and other financial tools, creating an ecosystem aimed primarily at people who prefer simplicity and gradual wealth building over active trading. That simplicity is the main attraction. Acorns can make sense for beginners or hands-off investors who value automation and behavioral nudges. It is not necessarily the best fit for experienced investors who want extensive control over individual securities or who can obtain the investment functionality they need more cheaply elsewhere. There are important trade-offs. Acorns uses a paid subscription model, so the cost deserves particular attention when investing relatively small balances. Investing also involves genuine market risk: automation makes the process easier, not risk-free. Prospective users should therefore compare the current subscription tier, features and investment approach with their own objectives before joining. Referral promotions can add value for eligible new and existing users, but their rewards and qualification requirements can change. Check the applicable terms carefully rather than treating a promotional amount as permanent. Overall, Acorns is a thoughtfully designed approach to automated micro-investing whose strongest proposition is not spectacular returns, but making consistent investing easier to start and maintain. -- The Rebel Marketer

Acorns is a fantastic app for anyone looking to start investing without even thinking about it. The 'Round-Ups' feature makes saving money effortless by investing your spare change. Plus, their referral bonuses are some of the best I've seenโ€”I'm currently aiming for a huge $800 bonus! Highly recommended for beginners and pros alike.

Acorns has been an automated way to invest without even giving it a second thought. It has allowed me to put away thousands of dollars without even realizing it, and my money is always growing! They also offer investment cashback if you purchase certain products!

These has been an amazing way to save some money. I'm on a fixed income and it's a wonderful thing checking my acorns account and it's been working hard making me money in those hard times where I'm pinching pennies.

Set it and forget it. Acorns is dollar cost averaging (DCA) at its best. Acorns is as automated as you can get when it comes to an investing platform. Acorns is considered to be a micro and robo financial services company. When I opened my Acorns account, I picked moderately aggressive for my risk tolerance out of the five choices given. Every week Acorns pulls the money I've allocated from my bank and invests between the same six pre-selected index funds or ETFs. The funds earn dividends on a monthly or quarterly basis and get automatically reinvested.
