Great US investment platform

I’ve been using eToro for around three years now, and for me the biggest appeal isn’t day trading or trying to predict what the market will do tomorrow. It’s long-term investing. My strategy is simple: I deposit around £100 every month and keep investing consistently. Rather than constantly buying and selling, I’m using a dollar-cost averaging strategy designed to build wealth gradually over many years. So far, using this approach, I’ve made more than $8,000 in profit. That’s my own personal result and obviously isn’t guaranteed, but it shows why I personally prefer thinking in terms of years and decades rather than days and weeks. My plan is essentially to keep investing regularly all the way towards age 55, giving compound growth as much time as possible to do its job. Market drops don’t automatically bother me either. When you’re investing every month for the long term, lower prices can actually mean your regular contribution buys more. Another feature I really like about eToro is its social investing side. Other users can see how people invest and, where available, use eToro’s copying features to follow investment strategies they like. So if someone likes the way I invest, they can potentially follow a similar long-term approach rather than having to choose every investment themselves. You can also refer other people to eToro yourself once you have an account, so the referral side doesn’t necessarily stop with joining. For me, eToro is less about “trading” and much more about: £100 a month → invest consistently → ignore short-term noise → reinvest → keep going for decades. That’s the strategy I’ve followed so far, and it’s the reason I continue using the platform. Investments can rise or fall in value. My $8,000+ profit is my personal experience and should not be taken as a guarantee of future returns.
